After 2 days with the #ClicksKeyboard I got used to it more than I’d have thought. Typing on a physical keyboard with tactile and clicky buttons instead of having to [fight the iOS keyboard](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33256168) feels great and allows me to type what I intend to type even without looking and while walking. My muscle memory from my #BlackBerry times kicked in almost immediately. (Which also made it apparent, that the Clicks keyboard swapped the Shift and 123 keys.)
It does support MagSafe (although the whole thing is too heavy for a vertical mount!) and USB-C passthrough. And the keyboard is backlit for when you need to find the home row at night. All in all well thought through. And having the additional screen space is great for writing longer emails or those emergency SSH sessions.
While the whole phone+keyboard is a big chungus, the convenience of the hardware keyboard makes the decision on whether to leave your house with it really hard. Do I expect to type longer texts while out and about? Or do I rather prefer a sleek phone that fits into my pockets and struggle with my sausage fingers and the #iOS keyboard instead?
That being said, I never intended to shell out the original asking price of £109. Even now after testing it, I’m still not sure whether it’s worth that amount of money to me. But as they’re running a sale for £70 at the moment and even sell “certified open box” ones for £53, I went for the latter. And for £53 I’m very happy.
