May has been good for gaming.
A few highlights:
Legacy of Yu has been a really nice surprise. Did a full campaign in a few days. Really enjoyed the mechanics and the story. The insert was smartly designed and most of the components were high quality. Sadly, as soon as you understand the puzzle, it becomes too easy. I wish the campaign would evolve a little more and would introduce more gameplay elements and surprises to compensate. A very solid game with no replay value that can be gifted. Recommended!
Tamashii grows on me more and more with each play and I am looking forward to my regular Saturday mission. I am getting better at the game, faster at setup (🤭) and really enjoying my time with the game.
Star wars the deck building is still a hit for my partner and for me and we keep coming back to it. He is not good at it but he loves it 😂
We also finished Stickerville. A really beautiful and relaxing game. Very few stakes and decisions but they all have meaningful long time impact. Not a “gamer” game but what a relaxing experience it was. Not everything needs to be a brain burner. Recommended!
We finally started My Island. We loved My City, and My City Roll & Write helped us staying sane during the multitude of Iranian missile attacks so expectations are high. The first chapter didn’t disappoint and the raise in level difficulty feels just right. Let’s go!!!
Finally, Kingdom Legacy is still catnip for humans. Can’t stop doing rounds and rounds. Finished the base game and moving to Merchant, the first expansion. If only the AI graphics weren’t so bad, it would have been a 11 out of 10. It is sooooo ugly. (And really distracting/disturbing on “person” cards)
Coming up in June: Labyrinth Chronicles and Regicide Legacy.
